Our History

Atlanta Peace Trails began in 2007, spearheaded by three women: Atlanta City Council Member Carla Smith, Andrea Kay Smith of Partnerships In Peace, and Dr. Gail Lash of Tourism For Peace, LLC.  Using a model from Bradford, England, and its brochure, "Bradford Peace Trail:  A walk around Bradford, City of Peace, the team compiled a similar booklet documenting places of peace in the Greater Metro Atlanta area, to distribute to both visitors and residents.

This "Atlanta Peace Trails" booklet highlights numbered maps and detailed history, location, languages on Peace Poles, and goals of each of the 39 places which honor peace, and how you can visit them.
