Peace Classes for your Organization, School, and University - All Ages: children through adults!

"Success . . .To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded." (Attributed to Ralph Waldo Emerson)

Metro-Atlanta Public Schools, Charter Schools, and other Private Schools

TFP met with local educators in January 2008 to learn about how Peace Education has been implemented into schools in Australia! We met Montessori Principal Mashid Jones, and heard about her success in co-creating, promoting and teaching these character development, virtues-based curricula, called the Peace Pack.  It is "Spiritual Education for a Peaceful World" that promotes unity of peoples - creating knowledge of "the other" and acceptance of diverse religious views and cultures.  We are looking to begin to use this and other peace curricula with Atlanta area children.  Now TFP is working with educators, parents, and interested persons to create Peace programs in Charter Schools, and International Schools. If your school is interested in implementing a Peace Education Program, please let us know!

Lectures on Peace

Dr. Gail Lash offers lectures on Peace principles and concepts, for Teacher Training days, and other special group gatherings at your primary or secondary school, or public venue. Her talks include multi-media PPT presentations, participatory exercises, and group discussion. Contact her for a customized lecture on Peace for your educational group!  Fees range from $350 to $1500, depending on group size and length of lecture.

"OPENING THE DOOR OF UNITY: TOURISM FOR PEACE"  This 60 to 90-minute PPT presentation, with activities and questions, is focused on looking at tourism as a vehicle for Peace.  Examine the continuum of types of tourism and the interaction gradient between hosts and guests.  Look at the effects of sustainable development and ecotourism on communities, and posit a new paradigm of peace through service and host/guest connections.  Please contact Dr. Lash if you think that this lecture would complement your departmental programs.

Workshops & Classes on Peace

Additional class topics available include: Understanding & Honoring Diversity; Knowing Oneself; Finding Your Essence & Power; Consultation: Justice in Action; Healing Racism; Community-Based Ecotourism; Imagining a World at Peace; Empowerment Workshop for Girls; World Café Discussions; and Open Space Technology.

University Courses
